All HRF plasma collected is tested and must be found negative for HIV 1 & 2 & HCV PCR, HIVPCR, HBsAg before release. Units are also tested for HCV antibodies. *HRF, Inc. holds a variance to plasmapheresis donors that are positive for HCV antibodies.

Yes. Samples are available from individual donors. We will also sample specific collection units, and will sequester either pending your approval.

Plasmapheresis is a process in which the fluid part of whole blood, called plasma is seperated in a refrigerated centrifuge. The red cells are returned to the person undergoing plasmapheresis while the plasma is collected and processed for its intended use.

It depends on your coagulation disorder, plus “supply and demand” variables in the market. We offer a very generous rate of pay plus a travel allowance for those who travel by automobile more than 150 miles round trip. For longer distance travel based on supply and demand factors for the product, we may also pay for a commercial flight and transportation expenses into and out of Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU).
